How can I use it?

There are multiple ways to use PeerAware in work projects, for school assignments and with friends and family.

Group chat

PeerAware is a communication tool with support for group chat and one-on-one conversation. Users connect in a workspace, where all communication is initiated. Here they can chat with other users in the group chat. Hundreds of people can chat together in one workspace, or simply observe what other people are discussing. From the workspace it is easy to initiate one-on-one conversations where all communication is kept between just two people.

Workspace members can also talk with one another in private chat sessions, completely hidden from discussions in the public chat.

Draw on a virtual whiteboard

The virtual whiteboard lets you draw in real-time on a shared drawing surface with other users in the workspace. The whiteboard can be used both in the group chat and in one-on-one conversations.

Any member can start a whiteboard session and invite others to collaborate. Once connected users are able to see what is drawn in real-time, or take part by drawing themselves. The chat is still visible while drawing on the whiteboard, ensuring that you can still follow workspace discussions.

Share documents and files

PeerAware lets you share documents so that they can be accessed by all members of the workspaces you connect to. Share as many documents as you like, of any type and size. The documents are indexed by content, where most common document types are supported including word, excel and powerpoint.

Search shared folders

Search the folders shared by all workspace members. A search request is sent to the workspace and forwarded to all members who search through their shared folders. The results are passed back and displayed among the search results.

search

Based on what you find, you can choose to download the results, or browse the folder where the document was found.

Browse shared folders

Browsing shared folders can be initiated from a workspace by selecting a user, clicking the right mouse button and selecting "Browse Shared Files", or similarly by right clicking a search result.
